Western Wildfires Fuel Urgency for Forest Restoration

After years of using Smokey the Bear to tout the evils of fire in the forests, the U.S. Forest Service is having a change of heart, now recognizing that fire is a natural part of the landscape and that decades of fire suppression and passive forest management can have severe consequences.
