Another privately-funded science project in Texas, to “map the entire genome” of bobwhite quail and describe the genetic variation (known as polymorphism) that exists within bobwhite populations, is wrapping up. This study is the “Bobwhite Genome Project” and is aimed at discovering whether genetic differences may play a significant role in the survival or demise of local bobwhite populations, among other things.
